Astral projection or Lucid dreaming: Which One to Choose

I decided to write this post as a sort of a clarification, and to expand a little bit upon the meaning of these two abilities. I noticed that many people think about lucid dreaming as something that is happening exclusively in the mind, and believe that through it they can satisfy their unfulfilled desires, have a lot of fun, enhance their personality, as well as work on various obstacles that they have in daily life. Such usage is what many ‘experts’ in this field promote. The former boast with the titles of ‘scientist’ and use it in authoritative way to explain what lucid dreams are all about. Such people ignore, ridicule, or demean the ability of astral projection, which is defined as the projection of consciousness (inside the astral body) out of the physical vehicle. For these people, there is nothing in us that can be projected out in that way, so they label it as a silly occult mumbo-jumbo. Or, there are some others in this field who think of it as real, but also as something that is happening solely within ones own mind. Continue reading

Astral Travel Training: Tips that Increase Chances for OBE (Part 3/3)

Practices are not only about quantity. Even more important is quality. Easier said than done, but it’s a golden rule and very worthwhile to grasp it well. Someone once said that “definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different resuts”, and that if the door you try to open is not opening by pushing, then you need to pull it. This indicate the need to experiment in order to get to results.

Most people that get stuck somewhere in the process of learning astral projection, is because they are applying the same approach, without getting any result. This indicates that practices are done in a mechanical way. Therefore, before starting the practice, intent to do it with quality, and things might very well start changing for the better. Remember: astral projection is achieved when the mind is awake at the moment when the physical body falls asleep. It is that simple, and a quality practice will move you in that direction. Having More and Better Quality Astral Experiences (Part Two)

This article is a continuation from the one from previous week, in which we deal with increasing chances for astral projection, and having more conscious out of body experiences and lucid dreams. Last week I mentioned some important aspects such as concentration, awareness, relaxation, prayer, setting intention and goals etc. This week I will focus more on some other elements, equally important in order to start having regular astral experiences. To have such experiences on weekly (or even daily) basis, it’s important to take this ability seriously – that’s really the only way how experiences out of the body will start to occur in your life.

If you take some famous people who succeeded with this exercises (famous in the spiritual circles), such as Robert Monroe, William Buhlman, Belsebuub, Samael Aun Weor, etc., one thing that they all have in common is that they were very serious in, not only achieving astral projection once or twice, but practicing it regularly and doing other things that help with sharpening the ability of astral projection in order to have it regularly. It is the latter that has potential to change your life in ways unimaginable, but one needs to be serious, have pure intention, kindness, and thirst for knowledge. Continue reading

Increasing Chances for Astral Projection: Learning to Have Consistent Out of Body Experiences (1/3)

Astral travel is an enchanting ability, one of those that inspires mystery and wonder in many people throughout the world. And how wouldn’t it be when it offers potential to explore higher realities, a higher dimension of life in which so many things are possible. Most of people have difficulty with projecting out of their body. Unfortunately, they interpret this as a sign that astral travel is a made up thing because a technique doesn’t work. This of course is jumping to conclusion, which can be testified by the many people who have obtained the direct experience of the reality of astral projection and astral travel.

Even though in its essence astral projection is a simple thing – the mixture of concentration and relaxation – it often time requires more effort and additional information/instruction in order to make it happen. These days many people want to see the reality of astral travel, but because it is craved for for wrong and silly reasons, many will not see it happen. Continue reading

Astral projection to the Temple of Sphinx

egyptwallcarvings

The following is an account of astral projection by one of the students of Samael Aun Weor, from Samael’s Q&A book called Beyond Death. I thought it may be inspiring to read this story it if you are looking for depth in astral projection, because it shows some of the many things that one can achieve with this wonderful ability of astral travel. Here it goes:

“On a certain occasion in the countryside when I was performing an exercise of meditation, I felt as if I was vibrating while leaving the body; then, suddenly I felt that I was flying at a great speed and arriving at Egypt in a couple of seconds. I landed close to the Sphinx and felt the heat of the sand in the soles of my feet, I was able to touch the enormous decayed stones of that gigantic monument. It was a great surprise for me to see such an open panorama and such a vivid perception of the sky, as well as a tenuous breeze from the Nile river that was blowing and moving some large, thin palms.

After a brief rest, I felt myself driven by a special attraction that lifted me from the floor; thus, floating, I soared approximately to the height of the nose of the Sphinx. In the nose I found a small opening; I entered through it and went down a set of steps that descended in very narrow manner ending at a chamber guarded by a brown-skinned guardian. He wore an apron and golden sandals. On his head he had a hairstyle with a golden diadem that resembled a cobra in the attitude of attack. In his right hand was a lance that hindered my passage. His very penetrating eyes were bluish green. He did not even pronounce a single word; he only examined me and performed a greeting pass which I answered; he smiled, took hold of the lance and with an amiable reverence allowed me to pass; I then penetrated into a great chamber where I heard very soft songs from a choir chanting prayers in the form of delectable hymns.

There was a pink colored smoke from incense in the environment, which smelled like an extract of red roses and which made my body vibrate from head to toes. There were also many Egyptian symbols on the walls, which—in spite of not understanding them—were very familiar to me. So, after observing the rich decoration of that chamber, which undoubtedly must be a very special temple, a gong sounded and three Masters appeared who had calm and venerable faces, yet very penetrating sight; two of them came dressed with yellow tunics and one with a very white tunic; after saluting me they welcomed me with a very fraternal hug.

Thereafter, they celebrated a Mass on an altar that was between two enormous columns and that had a great golden scarab that shone in the midst of the incense smoke. Then a crystalline water fountain, that I did not notice before, became illuminated; they guided me towards it, and in it I began to see my face as black and horribly bearded, like the face of an orangutan; then I saw many passages of my present life where I committed all types of sin; so, I ended up moaning and crying.

Later they admonished me and gave me advice in a symbolic manner. They gave me a scarab of solid gold; they put it on my right hand and closed it while pronouncing some words that I did not understand; then they told me to keep it and to become worthy of always having it by my side. Then, they blessed me and I returned to my body. Very impressed, I woke up instantaneously, without forgetting any detail to the present day.”

Spiritual Protection in the Astral Plane (Part II)

Shakti, the Divine MotherTwo very effective recitation techniques to dispell negtivity  are called Bellilin and Jupiter. Performing Jupiter recitation in the astral should be done in the following way: place the palm of your left hand on the solar plexus area, and point your right hand towards a spirit you want to dispell. Fingers of your right hand should be in a form of a gun, i.e. thumb up, middle and index finger outstreched. Then say out loud and with strenght:

In the name of Jupiter, father of gods, I dispel you, Te Vigos Cosilim!

The reason your left hand should be on your solar plexus is to protect yourself from possible interference by the spirit. Solar plexus is a sensitive area and it is there where they usually hit. Sometimes I would feel a pain in that area after attack, when returning back to my body, but it goes away quickly.

Bellilin is a little different than Jupiter as it entails singing. It can be done each time before doing a practice to clear a room of negativity. You do it out loud every time, but if for whatever reason you cannot, then do it mentally. After that you can do a circle of protection around your room so that nothing of a lower nature can enter in. You can also use it to dispell a neg (or a group of them) in the astral. Unlike Jupiter, you don’t have to point your hand at anyone specific. Just singing Bellilin will affect all of them. In my experience Bellilin has proven even stronger than Jupiter. The recitation goes like this:

Bellilin, Bellilin, Bellilin,

Amphora of salvation,

I would like to be next to you,

Materialism has no strength next to me,

Bellilin, Bellilin, Bellilin.

Here is how you sing it. You repeat it three times.

You can also perform both of these recitations in the physical world upon a person who acts negatively.  They won’t be as efficient because physical body serves as a shield. In the astral there is no such shield, and if a spirit is negative it will work on them. However the effect can still be significant and some have said that they still managed to clear away negativity from a person upon whom they performed the recitations.

One important thing to mention is, if you ever find yourself in a situation with a neg, it’s always better to re-locate yourself and not waste any time on them. Because the astral has less dimensional laws than our world, it is possbile to teleport where you want to go.  One of the techniques for teleporting while in the astral involves visualizing a location and feeling it around yourself. You can at first experiment how that works with locations that are very familiar to you and which you won’t have any problem visualizing. The key aspect of this technique is to FEEL yourself in a location you want to teleport to. Protective recitations are great if you are not good in quickly changing locations.

The Circle of Protection

Another very useful thing is the circle of protection. It is done by asking your own Divine Father, which is the main aspect of your Being/Spiritual Self, to order your elemental intercessor (another aspect of your Being) to draw a magical circle of protection around your room so that negative entities cannot enter. You make this petition to your Father out loud (or mentally if you cannot out loud) three times. Then you imagine a small sphere of light (representing your elemental intercessor) making a circle around your room three times. As the sphere moves it leaves a circle of light behind it. You should imagine it going from left to right. Thank the Father once you complete your circle of protection.

This circle is very effective and it prevents those of very low energy to enter it. One time when I woke up within the astral in my room, I heard someone trying to open a door but it couldn’t due to the circle. You can also do it, together with Bellilin, each time you go to sleep so that you protect yourself during the night.

Lastly, enjoy the astral. Don’t let negs get you back to your body by triggering your emotions. There are beautiful places in the astral, and negs are usually in the lower levels of the astral. Once you learn how to move up to higher astral levels you can easily avoid them altogether. Also remember that they cannot harm you, they may try to trick into thinking that they can, but they cannot. Your astral body cannot be harmed. Their main weapon is scaring you back to your body.

Myths about astral travel

There are many myths about astral travel and astral projection which I have encountered. All of them mention some sort of “danger” of astral travel, which makes poor seekers weary as to whether they should continue with the spiritual search or not. What I’ve noticed is that most of the misinformation comes from people who don’t have any substantial astral experience. There are also people who deliberately spread misleading information, while knowing that what they spread is misleading. Such people do not want others to search for the truth for various reasons. Often they are just jealous that someone actually has enough courage to search for the important answers of life.

What is sad is that such lies, myths and misinformation can have a detrimental effect on a person who has only just started questioning things and gathering information on astral travel and spirituality in general. Such “newbies” are an easy target because they have no experience of non-physical realities so they are easy to mislead and become diverted from their goal, making them believe that it’s better to drop this entire non-physical venture and to return to the comfort zone of mundane life.

I will mention here some of the myths about astral projection which I have encountered so far, and will explain briefly about each:

The “silver cord” can be cut and you can get lost while far away from the physical body.

This is a classic one. No, it cannot happen. The “silver cord” is a connection between your physical and astral body. It is cut only at the moment of your physical death. That connection can stretch to infinity. You cannot get lost or get stranded from your body. Each time you experience a heightened emotion like fear, elation, anger etc., you return back to the body. Because of this time limit of astral experience, there is the problem of acquiring substantial knowledge. Another way to return back is simply by intending to return.

One needs to be a vegetarian in order to astral project.

I’ve heard a lot of comments about various prerequisites for astral projection, one of them being the above mentioned. This is false. You don’t have to be a vegetarian in order to astral project. Eating quality food is definitely important and beneficial, but it’s not a requirement for astral travel, even though it may yield beneficial, long term results in this field. Generally, the only thing needed for astral projection is to be concentrated on one thing at the moment your physical body falls asleep.

You can astral project only during spring and summer.

This is false too. There are no seasonal restrictions related to astral travel. We actually astral travel every night we go to sleep (unconsciously), and we do that regardless of the seasons.

You can get possessed.

That’s completely untrue. There is a special connection between you and your physical body which makes it impossible for anyone to possess it. Also, astral beings do not really go around looking for other people’s bodies – not even negative entities. Possession is only possible if you deliberately invite an entity into your body and consciously allowing them to use it. That’s a form of channeling, and personally I wouldn’t recommend it.

You could die..

False! Your astral body cannot be destroyed, nor can you (the consciousness/soul) be destroyed. You can, for example, have your leg bitten by a sea creature, but it will be replaced by a new one. Astral body is of totally different substance than the physical body and astral plane has different laws than the physical dimension. In the astral you can fly through hot objects (like the sun) or you can pass through walls etc. without being even slightly harmed.

Astral projection is anti-religious/satanic, and if you do it you will end up in hell.

Religious dogmas and conditionings have left a big psychological imprint on people’s personalities, making them feel fearful to even thought about any other form of spirituality that is outside of orthodox religious thinking. If you want to get to the answers about life and realities beyond this mundane life, you will have to be brave enough to question things, regardless of if you are religious person or not.

Being open for knowledge is a prerequisite for receiving it. As a matter of fact, astral travel is directly and/or indirectly mentioned in many sacred texts, such as Mahabharata, Bible, Nag Hamadi scriptures and many others. Also, all sacred texts describe the process to spiritual awakening, which in a major way consists of destroying inferior inner energies such as fear, anger, jealousy, lust etc., and by doing that you are increasing your consciousness which is trapped within those energies. Increased consciousness further results in spontaneous astral projections and waking up within dreams. The person then eventually stops dreaming altogether and is conscious the entire time their physical body is asleep. Therefore as you can logically deduct, astral travel is a completely natural ability and it occurs spontaneously in the process of spiritual awakening.

So these were just some of the many myths that exist. I may update this post with some more myths. Just bear in mind that nothing can happen to you on your astral travels, you can only gain much.
